Your Body Listens To You

We are always healthy. This is not a metaphysical, spiritual, woo-woo viewpoint. It's that your body responds to you correctly, all of the time. I'll start my explanations in the physical domain:

1. When you're sitting at a desk for prolonged periods, you're telling your body you want to stay like that. The body will oblige and your *muscles will stiffen into your chosen pose. Your body is trying to help you, not purposely hurt you. Your shoulders will hunch, neck push your head forward, and that space between your shoulder blades will remain ridged.

The way out is to periodically move those muscles. Set a time limit of 90 minutes and get out of that chair and move. Walk around the office, do ten head rolls each way, circle your arms.

*Actually, it's not your muscles that are stiffening, but your fascia. Fascia is a thin covering around each muscle that does the stiffening. Muscles only contract or release.

2.  If you say you always have a stiff neck, you will always have a stiff neck. Now, this is on the metaphysical side, but it is a truth. As a massage therapist, when I told clients this, most nodded their head in agreement and understanding. They often already knew this and just needed the reminder. If they didn't agree, they'd pretend not to hear or blow off my words. Either way, I figured I had at least planted a seed that may be adhered to in the future.

Whatever your ailment, say it's getting better. A sickness can be renamed as a challenge that's being overcome. All of those cells that comprise your body are listening at some level. Let them know what's going on, in terms you want to achieve.

3. Pain is your nerves letting you know you have a problem. Headaches are often tied to tight neck muscles and/or not enough water. If there was no pain, we wouldn't know to address a problem.

Listen to your pain. What is it trying to tell you? Do you need to see a doctor, get a massage, drink more water, or follow a more nutritious health plan? Hear it out. I'm not a doctor, but I can say this: when you take something to suppress pain, a cold, or any ailment, remember to question why you are feeling this discomfort. Do you need to relax more, consult a physician, or quit eating cheese puffs at midnight? Pain doesn't show up for no reason. Your body is talking to you. It's more intelligent than you are. Listen to it's guidance.

4. Emotions/stress effect your body health. Tight shoulders, inner organs, skin conditions, bodily functions, and more can be adversely affected. We all know how it feels to be stressed and have short-term bodily reactions, like shoulder pains or a headache. But long-term anxiety can damage inner organs, bring out eczema, or cause ulcers, just to name a few.

The alternative is to search for more peace in your life. Happiness goes beyond simply feeling good, It brings health benefits like less pain, better functioning organs, and more energy.

5. Your thoughts effect your body. This is a BIG discussion that won't fit into this short blog. If you're interested in knowing more, read Louise Hay's Heal Your Self. It can be a lot to swallow at first. When I read the thoughts that were causing my ailment for the first time, I threw the book across the room and claimed she didn't know what she was talking about. After a time of self-reflection, I came to accept her explanation. As she also gives an affirmation to tell ourselves  how to heal, the book does a world of good.

Fat, Happy, Baby-Cute Dreams

I'm reading a *Seth book. Perhaps you've heard of the series: A being who channels through Jane Roberts to give us humans advice, guidance, and a wee bit of knowledge as to the workings of the Universe. Now, regardless of whether or not you believe in channeled beings, the information is extraordinarily helpful. This is my first time dabbling into the series, and I'm only half-way through the book, but I've already gleaned a plethora of useful information. I'm as excited as an author at a free writer's conference hosted by Stephen King and Jodi Piccoult.

Please understand that the Seth books are not an easy read. I find myself re-reading paragraphs to get a sense of what is being conveyed. With that in mind, bear with me as I attempt to explain these lofty concepts.

What I have to share concerns dreams. When  you close your eyes, relax, and let go of words forming in your thoughts, you'll probably see images. The images may be of stuff that you saw during the day, recollections of childhood, or random pictures. These images can be influenced by your emotions set before you closed your eyes.

If you started out in a happy state, the images will tend to be happy ones: pictures of you on vacation, a litter of playful puppies, ice cream cones, your last birthday party, whatever brings you joy. As you slip off into sleep, these images fall away. Once R.E.M hits, your dreams will probably be positive, tranquil, peaceful. When you wake up, you may feel more eager to greet the day. Woo hoo! Seize that day! Let the day seize you, and all of that fun, jazzy attitude.

Flipping the emotional coin to fear, anxiety or sadness, and then slipping under the covers gripping these emotions, your negative state can lead to a scary picture show. Horror movies often make sleep harder to fall into. The boogey man feels omnipresent, like he's waiting in the folds of your brain ready to attack when you give into slumber. Behind closed eyes, you may see that annoying woman at the coffee shop who always steals the last of the cream, snarling dogs, ships sinking, villagers with pitchforks attacking a defenseless ogre, whatever agitates you. Sleep will be harder to come by and can set the stage for a grumpy day to follow.

But, there is hope! There are forces at play trying to assist you. They are lurking around you, through you, and in you, grasping for ways to drag you out of the pits of doom and back into the sunshine of a joyful life. Since  you're going to sleep, your dreams can be used. Images, activities, short stories, all of the stuff that comprise a dream are ways for those inner and outer forces to give you guidance. However, if you fell asleep in a fearful state, your dreams may be nightmares.

Advice laden dreaming still permeates happy sleepers. Guidance is not given to only those stuck in fear. But the dreams will feel more like a serene, psychedelic experience.

The tricks to use that midnight advice is to remember your dreams, and to interpret them. There is a great deal of writing about how to do this. I will leave that for another blog post.

In summary, you regulate which type of images you will get as you lay in bed. You are not the victim of what comes to you. You are the one who picks the type of movie for the night. Do you want a feel good, uplifting, lighthearted movie to encompass your evening and spill into the next day? Then focus your thoughts on positive encounters and things of which you are thankful. Or would you rather be attacked by the boogeyman? Then stay scared, and let fear shadow your night.

Me? I'm going to make it a habit to consider my emotions before siesta time. I hope you will make the same choice. See you in Dream Land!

Every Cure Is A Placebo

When a sick women touched the hem of Jesus' robe, she felt herself cured. She thanked Jesus for the healing. Jesus told her that it was not his clothing that healed her, but her belief.

We can all do what Jesus did, from walking on water to being a conduit of the Love Message. The difference between him and us? We don't believe that we could do that. And that's okay.

Individually, we could free ourselves from any illness, produce food for our town from a barrel of fish, and run our appliances on air. As a world, we could think away climate change, bring food for all in an instant, and do away with lice and cockroaches. But, we don't have the collective thought of a world wide, all problems solved, belief system.

In the meantime, we have each other to believe in.

Right now, I'm working with a Homeopathic Practitioner on a health matter. I've struggled with the belief that I should be able to think my way into solving my health issue by my thoughts. That I should have the faith in my body, my mind, my spirit, and my angels to bring my body to perfect health. But I'm not there, yet.

I know that once I'm healed through the practitioner's concoction of homeopathic medicine, it will actually be because I believe that the tiny white pills were the remedy. The reality will be that it was my belief that they work. Same is true of every medical treatment, from alternative medicine to western modern medicine.

So rather than beat myself up over not, yet, being in the vibration of complete self-healing, I am consulting experts.

And besides, being a part of someone else's healing process is a wonderful gift for the healer.

Biodynamic Cranialsacral Therapy

Yesterday, I had the honor of receiving Biodynamic Cranialsacral Therapy. It's a light touch to the body from the feet to the head that seeks to realign the body, bringing it to overall health.

I lay face up on a massage table, relaxed yet excited at the same time. The practitioner, Jaclyn, began by  bringing her focus onto establishing an overall tranquility to herself and the room. Once she felt centered, she lightly touched my feet. I readily felt nurtured and supported. For the next hour, she gently placed her hands alongside my body, making her way up to the crown of my head.

Along the way, I could feel my body letting go of old energy that had been harboring yucky gunk, weighing me down. My body reacted by jerking as the negativity was released, especially at my neck. The intensity of the feelings grew as the minutes ticked by.

In my mind's eye, I saw what looked like one of the aliens from the movie Close Encounters of The Third Kind. It came from within my body and sat up. It was different from the creature in the movie in that there was no face, it resembled a rubbery skeleton and it matched the length of my body. I thought it might leave my body, that it was not a part of me Thinking it could be something negative, I sought to concentrate my body in pushing it out, . But then, as it was not leaving me, I switched to simply watching it. Eventually, it tucked back into me.

I don't know what it was, but it seemed to be peaceful. My intuition says whatever negative energy that had been keeping it 'dirty' had been cleansed through the cranial work.

I still don't know what it was. Could I be hosting an alien? Am I a transport system for an outside source, conducting research on the earth? Is NASA going to call me in for lab tests, or searching for one of their creatures missing from some secret UFO holding grounds? Should I answer the front door if men in black suits come to call? Oh, the conspiracy theories will be out of control soon.

Or maybe it was an image of my spirit, poking out of my body and checking out the surroundings? I may never know.

At the end of the session, Jaclyn said she suspected that the frequent jerking of my neck may be some pent up blocked energy from my time in-utero. Could be some birthing trauma. I don't know if forceps were used to get me out of the birth canal but would be a plausible explanation.

The session has left me with questions that may never be answered. As with much in life, a bit of mystery keeps the curiosity stirring.

Overall, the experience left me feeling cleansed, peaceful and full of joy. If you decide to try it out, don't expect to react as I did. I often jerk when unwanted energy leaves my body, often in meditation. Everyone feels things differently. What I suspect is that you will come away with is a deep, peaceful feeling. If you do get Biodynamic Cranialsacral Therapy, let me know how it went for you. It's always a hoot to hear how others perceive similar situations.

And if you do find an alien in your body, we can look out for NASA agents together!

Meditate For Answers

Meditation sucks out distracting thoughts and outside stimulants like a vacuum over a dirty carpet. Once cleaned, mind quiet, and your focus within, you can be lead into a place of peace. I often see within a river that I slip into, glide in, and finally plunge into a clear pool of water. Or, a path that I walk in that leads to a field of flowers and a tree or rock to sit comfortably on. There can also be a pure stillness, a weightless, black, peaceful nothingness. No gravity, no thought, no limitations, no emotion, no judgment, no time. Your way to inside tranquility may be one of the above options, or something specific to you. The goal is reposefulness, not what the particulars of it consist of.

This emptiness disregards time. You must be totally present, not hitting yourself with what has already been happened. There is a huge Do Not Enter Sign for past failings. Once there, you have the freedom to imagine a greater tomorrow.

Before meditation, you can ask questions like what are good ways to:

·         attract friends, finances, a lover

·         have a more fulfilling career or retirement

·         bring forth ideas for a business project

·         be a better parent

·         serve humanity

·         find purpose

·         be more healthy

The answers may come as images, ideas, feelings or words. Often, they’re not in ways you would expect. You may hear to be more loving, thankful for what you have, make peace with someone you have been in conflict with, forgive yourself. If they’re answers phrased in a way you hadn’t thought of before, listen closely. These are the ideas that will yield the best fruit

You may also hear or see nothing at all. This is likely when your vibration is being adjusted to meet that which you are asking for. To attract a relationship that will bring you great joy, you need to first be in the same vibration. You can’t be distrusting and angry, and attract a healthy partner. The resonations need to match. Trust that you are being heard, it just may be in a way you don’t understand.

Your response could also be coming after the meditation. It could come as unsolicited advice, an overheard conversation, a magazine article. If you suddenly feel like you just heard the solution you've been craving, you have. The Universe is constantly working to help you achieve joy. Trust in this, and the power of meditation to be a clear line of communication to voice and receive your preferences.

Meditation brings profound peace. A peace that can be carried into your life. The more often you are able to go inside, the more tranquility you will experience every day.

Unleash Your Will Freely

Do you have free will? Are you in control of your thoughts? Can you choose to be happy?

You know you have free will if you:

·         Are not an ant obeying a queen

·         Can make a choice, even if it will hurt

·         Can dream, imagine, envision, and picture things in your head

It can be argued that there are instances in which free will is impossible. Prisoners, victims of violent crimes, dead-end jobs that are needed to pay rent.  There are extreme challenges. But you can make the choice to be at peace.

Free will is more than getting to choose a tuna sandwich over a Cobb salad. It is also about deciding the attitude you want to approach your life. Make difficulties into challenges with the opportunity for long-term growth. Such as: declaring a long wait at the Department of Motor Vehicles as a chance to read a book, play computer games on your phone, meditate with your eyes open, make a game out of imagining the job of all others in line.

Many years ago, I went to a play documenting the two experiences of two men who had both been kidnapped for political reasons and imprisoned overseas. For several years, they lived in the same facility, and endured the same harsh treatment. Fantastic play but what got me was hearing from the two men afterward. They spoke of their feelings as prisoners, and their attitudes when released and returned to their families.

The first man was anxious, angry, bitter toward his captors. When he got home, he could not shake the feeling of injustice that had been done to him. He remained deeply unhappy. The second man accepted what had happened. He felt he had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m sure he had moments of anger but his overriding thoughts were to not take this personally. He chose to surrender through his time, hoping to eventually return to his family.

As you have probably guessed, it was the second man who appeared happier, more relaxed, at peace. I’m not sure if I could have been as enlightened as he was. That is a huge heaping of mashed potatoes to swallow. But it does reveal the extent to which free will can benefit us. You can choose how you want to perceive a situation. You have the choice to be at peace with circumstances beyond your control.

It is when we are at a peaceful state that creative thought can thrive. Flowers bloom better in cared for soil. Being stressed brings focus on the negativity. It’s like a mesh chain surrounding you and keeping out imaginative solutions to difficulties.

Next time you find yourself focused on the negative, take three deep breaths. Remember that you have the free will to change your thoughts to peace. From there you are open to receiving creative solutions, and ideas.

Freedom to choose peace leads to openness to creativity.

Oracle Cards Guide Inward

An oracle was once restricted to a priest or priestess . They were our medium for gathering advice from god. Nowadays, we have stretched this human limitation to include oracle cards. Rather then traveling to the homes, hermitages or mountain tops in search of spiritual guidance, you can buy illustrated packs to answer your questions. A path made easy with the flip of a card.

Those who have been traveling the spiritual path may find cause to argue here. God is within us. All the guidance we need can be found in that still, quiet, inner voice. Meditation, living in the now, staying aware, all of these already show us the way to a happier life. This is all true. But the issue is that these things are not always easy to follow. We are often blind to our own third eye. The constant chatter of our unrelenting ego, that inner dialogue that is often on repeat, can be hard to ignore.

And so, bring in the hero disguised as a deck of oracle cards. This is not contradictory to knowing that goddess wisdom is available to us all, directly. The thing is, these cards are simply a way for us to cut through the clutter of our mind's chatter and hear ourselves out. Goddess speaks constantly, cards being one of them.

Some cards have the ability to show where you were, are now, and will be in the future. In presenting the past, we can glean information about what we have been doing. This morning, I drew a card that said I had opened a treasure chest. In reflecting on the past year, I realized the many treasures that I had accumulated in 2020. Mainly, that I had received much of what I had asked for at the beginning of the year. I took the opportunity to be thankful for my manifestations.

When listening to the cards regarding the present, it can be helpful to ask a question before choosing the card. This serves as a guide that can direct answers to exactly what you want to know. It lessens ambiguity. Or your question can be simply, 'what will bring me the greatest joy?'.

Any card that reveals your future is not set in stone. There is no inescapable fate. What it can expose to view is the path you're on now. This is extremely helpful because you may or may not want the revelation. If shown something you don't want, you can change your behavior to manifest what you do want. You aren't strapped like luggage in a car heading in a direction you don't want to be in. Your point of destination can be recalibrated based on your changing input. Meditate, focus on what you do want, use the Law Of Attraction, choose a different ending. This is the delight of prophecy. Learning your destination allows you to decide on an alternate trajectory.

Use after a meditation for maximum benefit. Be open to answers that follow throughout the day and beyond. Best to be in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere.  I always shuffle the deck three times to send my energy into the cards. Allow time to reflect on what your cards may reveal. Thank the cards for the knowledge that you have received when you're done.

Here are the oracle cards that I use:
